For the Tomato Topping:

- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4–5 fresh basil leaves, chopped
- Optional: balsamic glaze, crushed red pepper, mozzarella pearls
Instructions
- Slice and cut the bread: Slice baguette into 1/2-inch pieces. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut each slice.
- Toast the bread: Brush hearts with olive oil on both sides. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden. Rub warm toast with garlic.
- Prepare topping: Mix tomatoes, minced garlic, olive oil, basil, salt, and pepper. Rest 10–15 minutes.
- Assemble: Spoon tomato mixture onto toasted bread hearts.
- Garnish and serve: Add optional balsamic glaze, basil, or mozzarella. Serve immediately.
